Range Riders

Determined to rid the area of Bull Crawford and his gang of thugs, an old cowboy named Sutton writes to his son Dick for help. Dick, who is hardly the tough that his braggart father has made him out to be, receives the request with dread and dons horn-rimmed glasses, a bow tie and knickers so that Bull's gang will not recognize him. Dick is met at the train station by Elsie Waldron, the daughter of Sutton's best friend and poker partner, and Pedro, one of Waldron's ranch hands. Both Elsie and Pedro are dismayed by Dick's appearance, although Dick immediately outsmarts Bull and steals some of his horses. At the Waldron ranch, Pedro insists that Dick, who has been dubbed the "Texas Terror" by his father, put on his uncle's "fiesta outfit," which makes him look like a Mexican bandit. When Bull and his men then ride to the ranch to confront Waldron about their horses, Dick manages to scare them off. Frustrated, Bull and his gang, whose violent tactics intimidate even the sheriff, then try to force Lawton, a sheep rancher, to reveal the location of his recently acquired money stash, but Dick beats the gang to the ranch and during the ensuing fight, disarms the gang and knocks Crawford unconscious. Next, Bull decides to steal the map to Hard Pan Willet's gold mine, which Hard Pan has just entrusted to Dick and Elsie. Bull orders his men to divert Dick and Pedro so that he can sneak up to the Waldron house and locate the map. While Dick fights with Bull's thugs, Bull breaks into the Waldron house, grabs the map from Elsie's dress, ties her up and flees. Dick, who has been tied up in the saloon, escapes, and he and Pedro chase the gang in an automobile. With Pedro at the wheel, Dick succeeds in fighting and capturing Crawford and his entire gang, whom he then ties up in the back seat of the car and delivers to the sheriff. Dick then returns to Elsie, with whom he faces a happy future.
