Notes

The only contemporary information located concerning this film are two 1932 Film Daily news items: A 21 March news item calls the film Hell Valley and states that it was "scheduled for immediate production" with an "all Negro cast." On 17 Apr, Film Daily noted that production on Out of the Crimson Fog had been completed. Paragon Pictures was located in New York City. No additional information concerning the film's release has been located. Although Film Daily calls the film a "feature," its exact length has not been determined. Modern sources refer to both a 1931 film, Hell's Alley, and a 1932 film, The Crimson Fog, as having been produced by Paragon with Thomas Moseley and Fay Miller in the cast. As no contemporary information has been located concerning either Hell's Alley or The Crimson Fog, it is likely that both are the same as Out of the Crimson Fog. Modern sources include Jean Webb in the cast of Hell's Alley, and list Hattie Watkins and Jean Webster as the writers. Additional cast members, listed in modern sources, for The Crimson Fog include Vera Temple, Billy Andrews, Kitty Arblanche, Billy Sheppard and Alvin Childress. Modern sources also indicate that The Crimson Fog was a silent film.
