Synopsis

Although he prefers partying to politics, Philip, the Grand Duke of Kiev who lives in New York, nonetheless has been targeted for assassination by a group of nihilists. Perciley, the man chosen to kill Philip, looks exactly like his intended victim, and so, after the police have arrested the would-be killer, the nihilists mistake the Grand Duke for their fellow traveler and instruct him in precisely how the murder should be committed. Then, Philip falls in love with the daughter of Dardinilis, the man who heads the nihilists. As a result, Philip, always the good sport, convinces the police to leave the nihilists alone, and then marries Dardinilis' daughter, after which he gives Dardinilis himself a commission in the Russian Royal Hussars.
