Synopsis
Exiled from Russia, nihilist Ivan Pavloff sails with his infant twin daughters, Nina and Olga, to the United States. On the steamers, a wealthy Russian couple offers a large amount of money to adopt Nina, and the impoverished Ivan finally consents. Years later, Ivan and Olga return to Russian territory to kill Nicholas Savaroff, who murdered Ivan's wife. The plan succeeds only partially, however, as Nicholas' men kill Ivan, after which Olga murders Nicholas. During her escape, Olga meets John Huntington, Nina's fiancé, and pretends to be her sister so she can accompany him safely out of the country. Upon her arrival in the United States, however, Russian spies kill Olga, and John, still unaware of the masquerade, is despondent until Nina appears to welcome him home.
