Synopsis
Heart of Oak leaves the reservation and attends an Eastern college, where he becomes best friends with the wealthy Granville Wingham. A year later, Little Fawn, Heart of Oak's sister, joins him at the school. She and Granville fall in love, but Heart of Oak tells her that she must not even think of marrying a white man. Nevertheless, Granville and Little Fawn spend the night together in a cabin, where Heart of Oak finds them the next morning. Enraged, Heart of Oak threatens to kill Granville, but then Little Fawn kills herself, and a stunned Heart of Oak sends Granville away so he can be alone with his dead sister.
