Synopsis

Four-year-old Helen Davis is run down by a reckless driver who carries her limp body into the woods. A band of gypsies find her and attempt to return her to her parents, but they are driven from the Davis estate. Fourteen years later, after having traveled across the world, the child, now named Corina, and the gypsies return to her childhood home. Accused of stealing a horse, the gypsies are forced by an unscrupulous lawyer to steal a map detailing the location of the buried fortune belonging to an elderly eccentric named Hathaway. While the gypsies rob the house, Hathaway is murdered. George Hathaway, who has been in Europe, undergoes a series of tribulations while attempting to avenge his father's death and recover the family fortune. During his exploits, he falls in love with Corina, who is also loved by Zeppo, the gypsy chief. After the gypsy leaders plunge to their deaths from a broken bridge, George restores Corina to her father, who consents to her marriage.
