Synopsis

Losing his last dime at poker, Burt Morgan sets out to find a job. When his horse bolts, Burt is thrown and knocked unconscious. His dog is shot by an Indian, who later regrets the action and gives Burt a bag of gold nuggets as a token of his sorrow. Steve and Hal subsequently beat the Indian and steal his treasure map, leaving him for dead. Burt finds work on the cattle ranch of a woman named Sally, with whom he falls in love. Hal is the foreman of the ranch and informs the sheriff that Burt killed the Indian. The sheriff does not arrest Burt, for Burt has hidden the Indian's nuggets and the body of the Indian has mysteriously disappeared. Hal and Steve attempt to kill Burt, but Sally intervenes and chases them off. Hal and Steve then ride into the desert in search of the Indian's hidden gold hoard. While the badly wounded Indian watches, the two men go to their deaths in a booby-trapped mine. The Indian tells the sheriff that Hal and Steve beat him, and then dies. Sally and Burt are married.
