Synopsis

The lead tenor in a small theatrical company quits after a disappointing love affair with Julieta, the company's leading lady, who has not wanted to marry him. Due to this unexpected setback, the manager, Julieta's father, must, to save the show, engage the only professional available, Roberto, who has a good singing voice, but has had the misfortune of having spent some time in a psychiatric hospital. Having fallen in love at their first meeting, Julieta and Roberto become a new team on stage and eventually get married. The spurned suitor finds out about Roberto's secret illness and bribes the maid to put a bottle of alcohol in his rival's dressing room, knowing that a drink will have disastrous consequences. The singer goes on stage drunk and insults everyone, and the scandal puts an end to his theatrical career. However, he later has success as a composer and once again regains the trust of his family.
