Synopsis

Carlos Madero, a composer of popular songs, puts to good use a twenty-five dollar tip given anonymously to him by his secret admirer, Mercedes Garcia. Soon Carlos' fortune increases, enabling him to travel to New York. Eventually, Carlos is able to open a luxurious nightclub. The owner of five similar establishments plans to take advantage of the fact that Carlos doesn't have much money and tries to appropriate the nightclub to add it to his own chain. A soft-hearted gambler comes to Carlos' aid, however, and gets the money necesssary to stop Carlos' ambitious rival. Mercedes drives to New York in search of her fortune and goes to Carlos' nightclub when she gets a job as a singer with a band. Finally, she and Carlos fall in love.
