Synopsis
Pursued by Sam Black and his gang, Chris Morell orders his adopted daughter Lucy to take their horse and seek shelter at a friend's ranch, while he confronts the outlaws on foot. Chris scares off all but one of Black's horses, thereby stranding the outlaws, but as he makes his escape, he is shot and wounded. Eventually Chris's unconscious body is found by Jim Moore, the adopted son of Chris's rancher friend, who has just robbed an express office. To divert suspicion from himself, Jim puts his shirt and bandana on Chris and leaves him to be discovered by his aunt, Clara Moore. After Clara questions Chris about his identity, she takes him to her homestead and explains that Jim's father was killed in a range war and lost his ranch to Vic Byrd. At the same time, Lucy arrives at Byrd's ranch and learns that her father Tom, who had abandoned her Indian mother just before she was born, works there. Byrd then meets Jim, who has been recognized as the bandit by Chris, and tells him to "take care of" Chris, while he finds Black. Alerted by his old friend Mat that Lucy is at the Byrd ranch, Chris leaves Clara's to find the child. After murdering Jim for the express money, Byrd locates the still stranded Black and offers to exchange Lucy, whom Black wants, for $5,000 and Chris's scalp. Black agrees to the bargain and heads for Clara's, while Byrd returns to his ranch to secure Lucy. When Chris arrives at Byrd's ranch, he shoots and kills Byrd and, with Mat, prepares to confront Black, who shows up with Clara. Following a stalemated shootout, Black agrees to exchange Clara for Chris, but is tricked by Chris and Mat, who eventually overwhelm the outlaws. As the sheriff arrives to arrest Black, Tom, who has asked Chris not to tell Lucy that he is her father, says goodbye, entrusting his daughter to Chris and Clara's loving care.

Notes
Although onscreen credits describe B. R. Tuttle's story as a "magazine" story, no confirmation that it was ever published has been found. The opening frame of the viewed print includes a copyright statement, but the title was not found in the copyright records. The date on the onscreen copyright statement was not readable, and no reviews for the production were located. However, the 1934 Film Daily Year Book lists this title as a 1933 Superior Pictures' release, and the film was submitted to the New York State censor board in 1933. A 1934 John Wayne Lone Star film, 'Neath the Arizona Skies, was based on the same Tuttle story and screenplay . Modern sources complete the above cast list with the following character names: June Mathews (Clara Moore), Clarise Woods (Lucy Morrell), Bob Williamson (Jim Moore), Allen Holbrook (Vic Byrd), Harry Leland (Mat), George Hazel (Tom) and Clyde McClary (Jim Black). In addition, modern sources add Johnny Syke and Bud Osborne (Sheriff) to the cast.
