Synopsis
A hungry, despairing tramp comes to the aid of a poor old blind woman who has had an accident while taking a walk with her young granddaughter, Rosalinda, and, for the first time, discovers in their company a reason for living. Motivated to find work, the tramp looks for a worthy job and without fully understanding the risks, temporarily substitutes for a lion tamer in a circus. To the amazement of all, he is a great success and is given the job permanently. Twelve years later, the grandmother dies and Rosalinda, now a young woman, marries a lad of her own age. However, the lion tamer, who has been secretly in love with Rosalinda, becomes profoundly depressed and carelessly falls victim to a fatal attack by one of his lions.
