Notes

La rosa de fuego received a very negative review in La Opinión, the Los Angeles Spanish-language newspaper. The reviewer complained about the lack of a sense of time or place in the story, the distinctly amateurish direction, poor photography, sound and synchronization, the fact that, at one point, Don Alvarado appeared to be reading his lines off "cue cards" and, additionally, that Renée Torres forgot one of her lines and began again from the preceding paragraph. This film May have been reissued in a similar or revised version in 1936 under the title Amor que vuelve.
