Synopsis
Bill Kemp and his partner Karminski land their spaceship on the Moon City spaceport in the year 2021. Passing through customs, Kemp is approached by Clementine Taplin, a visitor from Earth looking for her brother Wally who disappeared from a mining expedition on the far side of the Moon. Police Chief Liz Murphy, however, tells Kemp that he will be grounded unless extensive repairs are made on his ship. Depressed about his poor prospects, Kemp encounters Hubbard, a millionaire space industrialist who offers to buy him a new ship if he will harness a certain sapphire asteroid and bring it back to the vicinity of the Moon. After completing his mission for Hubbard, Kemp agrees to help Clementine. Upon discovering Wally's dead body at the mining site, Kemp and Clementine are attacked by a group of Hubbard's men, but they escape back to Moon City and explain to Liz that Clementine's brother was killed by Hubbard's henchmen. Hubbard arrives, kills Liz, and orders Kemp to crash the asteroid into one of Wally's claims. Kemp and Karminski fly Hubbard and his men to the asteroid, where Kemp persuades them to examine the surface of the asteroid; Kemp and his partner then crash the asteroid into the Moon, killing Hubbard and his men.
