Synopsis

Matriarch Claris Manning, an alcoholic invalid, tyrannizes her children, including: Carol, who enjoys muscle magazines; Matthew, a crackpot clergyman; Michael, in love with his sister Carol; Margaret, the eldest daughter; Buster, the youngest son; and Drew. Drew's fiancée undergoes a gruesome abortion performed by the family doctor, Kram, a blackmailer. At dinner a heated argument arises, and Claris reveals that Mortimer, her attendant, is Margaret's father. Later, Michael's pregnant, possessive wife Susan visits Claris, who informs her that Michael's father is confined in an asylum for the criminally insane. [Press material suggests that the film includes scenes of drug-taking, seduction, and murder.]
