Synopsis

Janine Heining, Swiss secretary to a diamond merchant, lives with her musician boyfriend, Johnnie Cobb, who secretly plots a get-rich-quick scheme. Johnnie intercepts a letter from Janine's boss to a German jewelry firm and has his friends Ben and Tom pose as diamond merchants sent by the firm to pick up a valuable stone. The ruse is discovered and the two crooks kill Janine's boss and knock her out. As a result of the blow, Janine suffers from amnesia and wanders through London as Johnnie worries about her going to the police. Visiting his brother Louis, he finds Janine has been there and in the argument that ensues, Louis is accidentally killed. Meanwhile, Janine is befriended by an ex-boxer, Mike Connor, who is aware of her true identity through newspapers and broadcasts. To raise money for Janine's safe passage out of the country, Mike enters the ring for one more bout. Finally tracking Janine down, Johnnie appears outside the arena just as Mike emerges, and when he begins to beat the weary fighter, Janine shoots him.
