Synopsis
In Wagon City, Utah, eight bandits disguised as federal soldiers rob a bank. Bud, critical of his leader Carson's brutal killing of an elderly woman, is abandoned in the desert along with the faithful Little Slim. They are rescued by Captain Hull and his wagon train, bound for Fort Alamo. Bud is attracted to Janet, a prisoner accused of theft. Although Sergeant Warwick realizes that Bud is impersonating a federal officer, he allows him to order a retreat when the wagon train is surrounded by the hostile Sioux. Bud courageously ventures to Fort Alamo and returns with reinforcements to repulse the Indians. Attempting to flee with the bank loot, Carson, rescued by the wagon train after his men have been slain by the Indians, is chased and killed by Bud. Having returned the money to the authorities, Bud, Janet, and Little Slim leave the wagon train to begin a happy life together.
