Synopsis

Pergaso, tyrannical ruler of the city of Cafaus, conquers the neighboring village of Nefer and demands 24 virgins as tribute. Goliath frees one of the young women being taken for tribute and later joins with Evandro, Xandros, and others from Nefer to rescue the women. Chelima, the mysterious woman whom Xandros loves, persuades him to take part in the annual chariot race held by Pergaso, the prize being the hand of one of his daughters. Xandros is wounded by assassins sent by Pergaso, and Goliath replaces him in the race. He wins, but Meneos, captain of the tribute ship, accuses him of treachery and tries to arrest him. Goliath escapes and joins the people of Nefer, who revolt and capture the palace at Cafaus. Xandros marries Chelima, who is actually Princess Regia of Cafaus, and the two reign over the liberated Nefer, while Goliath returns to his life in the country.
