Synopsis
In his campaign against the slave trade, Gordon, the Black Buccaneer, who once was a slave, disguises himself and goes to the slavers' base in San Salvador. Unmasked by his old enemy Tortuga, whose life he had spared in return for a promise to renounce the slave trade, Gordon is condemned to death through the treachery of the governor's secretary, Romero, who is the secret head of the slave traffic. The buccaneer escapes from prison, however, with the help of his devoted Creole companion, Luana, and the governor's daughter, Manuela. After Romero seizes power and imprisons Manuela, the buccaneer mounts an attack. Though Luana is killed in the fighting, the buccaneer captures the villain, frees Manuela, and then, with the governor's consent, marries her.
