Synopsis

A relatively unknown painter is invited to spend the summer with a wealthy friend. En route, he picks up an attractive young woman who agrees to join him at his friend's house. Their visit is disrupted by the arrival of the friend's teenaged son, who begins flirting with the young woman but suddenly leaves for Israel. As the summer comes to an end, the young woman, who by now has fallen in love with the painter, fears that he will leave her; and, while on a boat ride, she becomes reckless and falls overboard. The painter is unable to find her and only then realizes how much he loved her.
