Synopsis

A wave of terror sweeps across Egypt when the aged Pharaoh Armitee is murdered; his young Persian wife, Queen Smedes, has entire villages burned and sells the survivors into slavery to the Persians. As part of her plan to turn Egypt over to the Persians, she has also captured her stepson Kenamun and, by keeping him drugged, has forced him to consent to their marriage. Then Maciste, the legendary son of Samson, arrives and performs great feats of strength and courage, constantly routing the queen's slavedrivers. Maciste goes to the capital city of Tanis to find his long-time friend Kenamun, and Smedes tries to seduce him, but when he rejects her, she has him thrown into the dungeons. He escapes and leads the slaves in a mass revolt. In the ensuing battle, Smedes is killed when she falls into a crocodile pit. With the queen's evil spell broken, Kenamun assumes the throne, peace returns to Egypt, and Maciste rides off to the mountains.
