Synopsis

Enrico di Ventimiglia, son of the famous "Red Corsair" who was killed by the governor of Panama, leads his band of pirates in capturing a Spanish galleon carrying Van Hais, who betrayed Enrico's father to the governor. To save his life, Van Hais reveals that Neala, Enrico's wealthy sister, believed to be dead, is alive and serving as a governess to Carmen di Montelimar, the governor's sister-in-law. Soon after arriving at Carmen's palace in Cartagena, Enrico is accused of kidnaping Neala; Carmen, who has loved Enrico, believes the story and turns against him. Neala is actually a prisoner of the governor, who wants to marry her for her money. He orders the execution of her fiancé, who is Carmen's brother, and then tortures Carmen until Neala agrees to marry him. The wedding is interrupted by Enrico, who defeats the governor in a duel and rescues Carmen and Neala.
