Synopsis

Bandit Jim Cardew rules the old ghost town of Skyfields, which is surrounded by miles of apparently impenetrable desert. The dilapidated remnants of the town are the headquarters for Jim's outlaw band. On his way to San Francisco, Jim meets Anne Dixon, supposedly the sister of a young man Jim has befriended. Jim falls in love with Anne, though he soon learns that she and the young man are not brother and sister, as they are actually a pair of crooks. To punish Anne, Jim convinces the couple to visit him at Skyfields, and when they attempt the journey across the desert on foot, the tenderfoot Anne is left behind by her partner. Jim then rescues her and takes her back to Skyfields. Later, a rival outlaw attacks the town and a battle ensues, which only Jim and Anne survive. Having learned their lesson, Jim and Anne return to civilization to start their lives anew as honest people.
