Synopsis
A child who wanders away from her parents is reared on board ship by a kindly old sea captain. She falls in love with a wealthy young man, but his parents scorn her as a "wharf rat" and forbid the marriage. After she is revealed as the long-lost daughter of their wealthy friends, however, the young man's parents willingly accept her into the family.

A private showing was given in Aeolian Hall in New York on September 21, 1917. This was the first Technicolor motion picture utilizing the two-color additive process. The process was developed by Herbert T. Kalmus, Daniel F. Comstock and W. Burton Wescott under the firm of Kalmus, Comstock and Wescott, Inc. The Technicolor Motion Picture Co. was located in Boston. Copyright records list J. Parker Read, Jr. as author. The film was produced in Jacksonville, FL. Louise DeCosta and Evelyn Axzell were also listed in the cast in a pre-production news item. The film's initial public showing was in New York on February 25, 1918. Touring companies under the direction of C. A. Willat exhibited the film elsewhere.
