Trivia

The only film produced by the Douglass National Color Film Corporation (based in Marin County, California) in their color process called Natural Color.

Notes

The film opened in San Francisco June 16, 1918 and played on the Pacific Coast in June and July. It contained color scenes filmed in California locations, including Mount Tamalpais, Lake Lagunitas, Yosemite and Yellowstone. Leon F. Douglass was one of the patentees of the Victor talking machine. His film company was located in San Rafael, CA, and made short films in color in addition to this feature. According to modern sources, Douglass' color process alternated red and green dyed frames. A news item relates that the process involved a small device that could be attached to any camera, and projection at 24 frames per second.
