Synopsis

After three years of married life, Violet finds herself utterly without authority in her own home, due to the interference of her husband's maiden aunts, Lucretia and Harriet Kendall. Violet complains of her predicament to her husband Roger, but he is so involved in his job as an assistant district attorney that he ignores her needs. Meanwhile, the district attorney George Graham is in league with the gamblers whom Roger is trying to bring to justice and hires an assassin to put Roger out of the way. When Violet learns of the plot, she lures the district attorney to her home, and the assassin, mistaking Graham for his victim, kills him. The situation compromises Violet's honor, but her integrity is upheld through the testimony of an old family servant. All ends well as Roger finally recognizes his wife's qualities.
