Synopsis

The outbreak of World War I separates Bradford Stewart, an American studying medicine in Germany, from his best friend, Ritter Bloem, who becomes an officer at the front. Then, Bradford falls in love with "Little Comrade," a Frenchwoman spying on the Germans, and when she asks for his help in escaping from German authorities, he quickly agrees to pass her off as his wife. Nevertheless, Little Comrade is captured, and she is about to be executed when Ritter, who has been made the general commander of the German forces, learns that she is Bradford's sweetheart. Remembering his old friend, Ritter decides to forget about politics, and he lets Little Comrade go, after which she and Bradford make plans to get married.
