Synopsis

Jim Blake, the spendthrift son of New York millionaire John Sherman Blake, goes West to prove himself a man. Working on his father's Wyoming ranch, Jim wins the respect of the local ranchers by whipping a bully and attempting to collect damages from railroad president John Maynard, whose company was responsible for killing Blake's cattle. When Maynard refuses to pay, Blake buys a piece of land that Maynard badly needs, thereby forcing the magnate to pay him an exceedingly high sum for the land. Meanwhile, Jim falls in love with Maynard's daughter Alice who, after promising to marry him someday, journeys East. Jealous of their love, Alice's sister Ethel destroys all correspondence between the two, but her plan ultimately fails. The sweethearts are reunited, and even Alice's father concedes his son-in-law's worth.
