Synopsis

Nadia, a stenographer, must give her meager earnings to her drunken father. When he shoots his wife's lover, Nadia decides to move in with her flashy girl friend Mabel, who soon introduces her to the fast life. Eventually, Nadia marries a millionaire from Kenosha, Wisconsin, who dies of a heart attack, leaving her a wealthy, eligible widow. She then plays three ardent suitors against one another, loses the man who sincerely loves her, and again marries a millionaire who is more than twice her age. After she realizes her grave mistake in not marrying for love, and wanting her true love back, Nadia first tries to poison her husband and then pushes him off a cliff near their mansion. With his last ounce of strength, Nadia's husband claws his way back up the cliff, grabs her, and pulls her down with him to her death.
