Synopsis

After Susie Snowflake's mother, a country girl, ran away with an actor, Susie was reared by a guardian who was a former theater man. Because she grows up wanting to be a dancer on the stage, her guardian decides that it is best for Susie to go to live with her two maiden aunts in Crescent, a small, conservative community. Naturally effervescent, Susie does a lively dance at a tea party and at a church social and is ostracised because of her behavior. After she discovers money hidden by her grandfather and pays off the farm's mortgage, however, she is once again in the good graces of her family. She then marries the country doctor and settles into domestic bliss.

Notes

This was the first film appearance of Ann Pennington, formerly a star of the Ziegfeld Follies. Ads for the film feature the phrase "Daniel Frohman introduces...Ann Pennington." The film opened in New York on June 25, 1916. An item in the Paramount studio records implies that J. Searle Dawley May have been involved with the film's direction, but no corraborating evidence has been discovered.
