Synopsis

Doctor Stephen Grant has fallen in love with Myra Hamilton, but she is engaged to Harry Elliot. Just before the wedding, Myra learns that Harry is an alcoholic, but, certain that she can reform him, she goes through with the ceremony. Then, with Stephen's help, Myra finally is able to get Harry to stop drinking. During the cure, however, she realizes that she really does love Stephen, and so, to save Myra's marriage, he accepts a position at a leper colony. Several years later, Myra sends word that Harry has died, and implores Stephen to come back to her. Stephen is torn between his love for Myra and his devotion to his patients, but then, when he discovers that he himself has contracted leprosy, he realizes that he must remain at the colony.
