Synopsis

The Haddons and the Bassetts have been feuding for years over the rights to some mountain land. A railroad executive, eager to start building there, sends employee Dave Bassett, a citified member of one of the clans, to try to end the fighting. Calling himself Dave Rand, he renews his acquaintance with his childhood sweetheart, Nell Haddon, who fails to recognize him. Then, it is suggested to Nell's father Judd that if his daughter married a Bassett, the feud would be over. Nell refuses, even if it might mean that she must marry her loathsome cousin Luke instead. Dave then proposes, and defeats Luke in a fight for the right to marry Nell. After the wedding, she finds out that Dave is really a Bassett and leaves him. Finally, however, the couple is reconciled, and the feuding ends.
