Synopsis

After swindling a wealthy banker, who disappeared after he lost his money, a husband-and-wife team of crooks picks out a young millionaire as their next victim. The wife begins a romance with him, but then the banker's daughter recognizes the swindlers and tries to warn the millionaire against them. The millionaire then develops an interest in the daughter, so to maintain their hold over their new victim, the husband and wife trick the daughter into meeting with them, and try to force her to leave town. Then, the couple's bookkeeper, to whom they have told their plans, brings the millionaire and a policeman to the crooks' apartment. Removing his wig and glasses, the bookkeeper reveals himself to be the banker and has the policeman arrest the couple, after which the millionaire and the banker's daughter resume their courtship with no further distractions.
