Synopsis

Having maintained her social status by accruing huge debts, Virginia Trent's mother decides that her daughter must marry a wealthy man, and arranges a wedding with millionaire Morgan Hutchins. Virginia, however, marries Warren Presby instead, despite the fact that he has lost all of his money on the stock market. Desperate for cash, Virginia takes a check from Morgan, but when Warren finds out, he suspects that Virginia has slept with Morgan to get the money, and so demands a separation. To support herself, Virginia becomes a manicurist, and then hears some customers plotting to implicate Warren in a fraudulent stock scheme when, really, it is Morgan who is guilty. Virginia manages to clear her husband of the charge and have Morgan arrested, after which she and Warren reconcile, and his once worthless stock skyrockets in value.
