Synopsis

Jessie has married millionaire William Stuyvesant without telling him that she has a twin sister, Mary, or that her father, Old Jim, is in jail on a murder charge. When Jim's accomplice, "Doc" Ardini, is released, he tries to extract money from Jessie in exchange for silence about Jim, but hits on a better scheme to get rich after Jessie dies in a car crash. Taking Mary with him and posing as a psychic, he tells an inconsolable William that he can make Jessie materialize. Then, while William is preoccupied with his wife's "spirit," Doc starts cracking his safe. A contrite Mary quickly exposes the plot to William, however, and Doc dies when he triggers an automatic revolver that guards the safe. Finally, William and Mary decide to get married, and she tells him all the family secrets.
