Synopsis
While Professor Sinclair of Watson College in New England visits David Saunders and his daughter Shirley on their ranch at the Mexican border, the adventurous Shirley, despite warnings, rides near the Rio Grande and is captured by marauding Mexican bandits. After another prisoner, Carlos DeLaBarra, the scion of an old Castilian family, escapes from the bandits and rescues Shirley, an attachment develops between them. When Shirley and her father return East, they arrange for Carlos to be enrolled in Watson College, where, during the next four years, he and his roommate, Jack Foster, become baseball heroes and fall in love with Shirley. Although Jack bats in the winning run in the championship game, Shirley, who loves them both, is won by Carlos, because of a dream in which she learns about true love and the true character of both boys.
