Synopsis

Loved by both American Revolutionary soldier Allen Granger and British captain Staunton, Flossie Burgett chooses Granger as her betrothed. After the men fight a duel, the defeated Staunton, vowing revenge, has Flossie's father arrested. While Granger is away, Flossie organizes a company of four girls to fight, but they are captured by British forces at Saratoga. After General John Burgoyne sets them free and arrests Staunton for abuse of power, Staunton escapes and tears the British flag from its pole. Staunton attacks Flossie, but she is saved from diving off a cliff by her Indian friend Deerfoot. He chases Staunton to his death and then dies himself from Staunton's knife wound. Granger scales the cliffs during the Battle of Saratoga, but he is shot attempting to raise the American flag. After Flossie gives courage to the Americans by climbing the forty-foot pole to fly the flag, the Americans win, and she and Granger are united in love.
