Synopsis

A little waif named Jean is adopted by Jason, an old flower grower, and for several years sells his flowers by the roadside. Jack Aubrey, a country lad, loves Jean but hesitates to ask for her hand in marriage. When her foster father suddenly dies, Jean is adopted by the Gordons, a wealthy, childless couple from the city. Jean soon comes to dislike life among the well-to-do and, longing for the freedom of the countryside, runs away to join a band of gypsies. To escape the unwelcome attentions of Carlos, the son of the gypsy king and lover of Carmio, Jean hides in a deserted shack, but the eager gypsy finds her. Carmio alerts the camp to Jean's predicament, and she, Jack and the Gordons arrive in time to save the young girl from disgrace.
