Synopsis
When New York mining engineer Jack Hale goes to the country searching for coal, he discovers that a feud between the local Tolliver and Fallin families has existed for many years. Jack falls in love with Judd Tolliver's daughter June and offers to pay her expenses in a New York school after he discovers coal on the land. Later, however, Judd's nephew Dave, who is also in love with June, kills Jack's friend Bob Fallin with Judd's gun and Jack has the old man put in jail. When June returns from New York, she turns on Jack after discovering his part in Judd's imprisonment. She convinces the rest of the Tolliver family to help Judd escape, but during the attempt he is mortally wounded. Before he dies, Judd tells June to return to Jack, which she does just after he has avoided being murdered by Dave who is himself killed.
