Synopsis

Marian Blessington, an orphaned heiress, flees her ancestral home to avoid the schemes of her father's executor. Under the name of Molly Lessing, she moves into a boardinghouse where she meets and falls in love with bookkeeper Percival Sybarite. The executor's fortune-hunting son discovers Marian at her job as a department store clerk and invites her to a bazaar, hoping to arrange a fake marriage with her, but his wife exposes him. He then kidnaps Marian, but she is rescued by Percival, who donned a policeman's uniform to escape apprehension in a gambling den. In the end, wearing a devil's costume, Percival surprises the executor and his son with news of his marriage to the heiress.
