Synopsis
When her younger sister is slain by Cossack Count Bobrikoff, Nihilist Olga Petcoff vows revenge. While traveling to Port Arthur in hopes of confronting the Russian ambassador, Olga meets Lieutenant Dare of the U.S. Navy and falls in love. Arriving in China, Olga is captured by the Russian ambassador, who has occupied the Nihilist headquarters and is given the choice of being sent to Siberia or becoming his mistress. She chooses the latter, vowing to kill him, but before he becomes her lover, she is abducted by Prince Ching, the prime minister. Ching forces Olga to marry him and, four years later, she bears a son. During the subsequent Boxer Rebellion, American forces occupy China. Dare is able to learn of Olga's whereabouts and leads his troops in a charge on Ching's palace. In the fray, Ching accidentally shoots and kills his own son. Although Dare tries to comfort the grieving Olga, she repulses him, denouncing all who wage war.
