Synopsis

Judas, a servant for the Courtland family, is fired for stealing. Out of revenge, she substitutes her own baby daughter for that of the Courtlands so that Pearl is raised by the Courtlands as an heiress while Judas and her evil husband William Byke raise Laura as a thief. When Laura is caught stealing by the Courtlands, they are touched by her predicament and decide to adopt her after giving Byke a settlement. Twenty years later, the Courtlands die, leaving their money equally divided between Pearl and Laura. Pearl loves Ray Trafford, one of Laura's suitors, and tries to profit from Laura's predicament when Byke attempts to blackmail her. In the end, Byke is killed and it is revealed that Laura is actually the Courtlands' daughter. Pearl then begs Laura's forgiveness, which is granted.
