Synopsis

Lennon suffers amnesia after an accident on the road, leaving his wife and twin daughters, Jess and Nance, to fend for themselves. The dying Mrs. Lennon entrusts Nance to her old friend Lezzard, while Jess is adopted by gypsies, and each twin grows to adulthood unaware of the other's existence. Lezzard, now old, wishes Nance to marry his son Mark, but she loves and finally marries farmer Jack Yeulett. Meanwhile, Jess falls in love with a gypsy named Tom, and when Mark, bitterly jealous of Jack, sees Jess, he pays her to enact a love scene with Tom in Jack's presence. Thus, Jess unwittingly destroys Nance's marriage. Rejected, Nance and her daughter Kit go to the city, but after Tom deserts Jess, she assures Jack of Nance's fidelity. Lennon's memory is restored, and upon his return home, he entrusts Mark with an inheritance for his daughters. Mark keeps the money but is discovered by the police, while Nance is joyfully reunited with her husband and twin sister.
