Synopsis

In anticipation of a revolution in the Republic of Antillas, Josephus Daniels, Secretary of the United States Navy, dispatches the U.S.S. Utah to protect American interests in that Latin American country. Upon the battleship's arrival, Lieutenant Ward reports to the American embassy, where he meets and falls in love with Minister Gordon's lovely daughter Helen. When the young woman learns that General De La Monte plans to assassinate President Martínez and destroy the American ship, she rushes to warn Lieutenant Ward but finds him already imprisoned for the president's murder. Gordon releases the lieutenant, who prevents the Utah 's destruction and then, in flying an armed hydroplane, assists the ship in demolishing De La Monte's forces. Next, the lieutenant and his men march into the capital and rout the enemy, thus saving the embassy and the Gordons.

Notes

Many of the scenes were filmed in Cuba. Josephus Daniels was Secretary of the United States Navy; Charles J. Badger was Admiral in Charge of the Atlantic Fleet; and William Shepherd Benson was Commander of the U.S.S. Utah. The picture was produced "with the aid and permission of the United States Navy." The name of the actor portraying Minister Gordon is unconfirmed due to the deterioration of copyright records.
