Biograph summary: A tramp comes to the door of a farm house and asks the farmer's wife for food. He receives a piece of pie and a cup of coffee. In the meantime the farmer has come in from the fields and is washing his hands in a basin at the side of the house. The tramp apparently doesn't like his food, for he throws it away and threatens the woman. The farmer thereupon goes for him and gives him a severe beating in which the woman assists with her broom.
