Synopsis

Biograph summary: A most amusing story of life in Bohemia. The scene is laid in a café. At a table alone is seated an attractively dressed young woman reading a newspaper. A gay old boy comes in, and seeing his opportunity, takes a seat at the table. He attempts in various ways to attract the young woman's attention, and finally succeeds beyond his most ardent expectations. She lowers her newspaper, however, and he gets a good look at her face, which is extremely unattractive. The change of expression on his countenance from glee to disgust is very cleverly done, and makes an extremely laughable ending to the picture, as the man gets up and walks away, leaving the young woman amazed at his sudden change of front.
