Synopsis

Biograph summary: The bartender of a Bowery saloon on April 1st, puts a bottle of good whiskey under a hat, and places it on the sidewalk. A hobo comes along, and suspecting the time-honored joke of the concealed brick, passes by the hat in disdain. He has hardly done so, however, when the bartender and a policeman on the beat show him the bottle which had been concealed beneath the hat. His chagrin and mortification are very obvious.
