Synopsis
On the borders of Austria and Slovakia, a mafioso in a suit barks angrily into his mobile phone: the money should have been there long before. In the car, a seductive young woman, who clearly refuses to take on the role of the bimbo entertainment, is also subject to his threats. Johnny, an unlikely luggage porter, finally arrives in a beaten-up taxi. The man forces him, at gunpoint, to get into the car. But when he's about to start the car, the young woman squirts him with an immobilising spray and, kicking him out of the car, accelerates hard. We see Johnny and Shirley again in a hotel in Slovakia, after spending the day trying to sell the car, which is obviously stolen. But when Johnny goes back to the bar where he'd been for a beer, the unknown young woman has disappeared. He then meets a dilettante gangster from the former East Germany, who is now involved in import- export shoe business. Together, they set off on a headlong rush to find Shirley and, like some kind of contemporary Odyssey, travel the length and breadth of the continent.
