Synopsis
On a train traveling through the Japanese countryside is Kenji, a young man searching for something or, rather, someone. As if guided by some irrepressible instinct, he stops in a little town on Hokkaido, an island in the north of Japan. There, attracted to the window of a hairdresser's salon, he finally finds what he has been looking for: the hairdresser. He moves into a dilapidated house and then goes to the salon, where, Harumi, the hairdresser, welcomes him without batting an eyelid. She is married to an unrepentant gambler who is slowly ruining her. Kenji decides to carry Harumi off and, out of love for her, keep her captive at his place. Cajoled into this exclusive love as much as excited by it, Harumi accepts the situation.
