Synopsis
A biography of Hector Villa-Lobos, one of Brazil's most accomplished composers. Beginning with a childhood fascination with music, young Villa-Lobos learns the cello. After following travelling saxaphonist Donizetti across Brazil, Villa-Lobos is captured by tribesman in the rain forest and looked after by them. In the forest, he learns the beautiful sounds of nature and the birds, returning to the city with radical ideas about music. After his first solo concert in Rio, Villa-Lobos heads to Paris and launches his international career, eventually becoming Brazil's most admired 20th centiry composer.
