Synopsis

Examines developments in India, Pakistan, Japan and the USA during the last three years- from the testing of atomic weapons in India and Pakistan in 1998 to the terrorist attacks on the USA on September 11, 2001. The film casts a spotlight on various aspects of the peace movements in these countries and takes a look at their struggle against increasing global militarism. At the onset of the 21st century, war has increasingly become a reality for many; new 'enemies' are constantly being created and entire economies now depend upon the production and sale of weapons. In this climate, Gandhi's vision of a peaceful world - like a mirage - seems more unattainable than ever.
